Holocaust Education Seminars

In the beginning of 2010, U.S. Embassy Vilnius and the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, in cooperation with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the International Task Force on Holocaust Education and the Lithuanian Ministry of Education initiated series of three seminars "European Holocaust History, Human Rights and Tolerance Today" which were offered in Lithuania for teacher trainers from 2010 to 2012.

The objective of the seminars is to expand expertise of teacher-trainers in the teaching of European Holocaust history and its implications for human rights and tolerance today as well as provide guidance in curriculum design and methodology for training secondary school teachers to teach their students about the Holocaust.

Seminars were funded by the Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research and the United States Department of State.
