Internship placement is found individually for each participant according to one’s professional experience and study field. The stipend includes airfare, health insurance, rent and everyday expenses.
Each year approximately 30 young professionals from Baltic States are going to the USA to experience American business culture, gain new knowledge and skills, and acquire ideas they will be able to use after return to Baltics. “Now I can easily say that it was my best experience in life so far. This internship is not only about learning things you will need in your future career, but also about learning different culture, meeting great people and being among the greatest leaders,” told Justinas Krugelis, member of the first BAFF group of interns.
To be successful in the scholarship competition, candidate should possess several key qualities that include strong personal motivation, clear future goals and outstanding academic and professional achievements. Candidates should be able to demonstrate professional objectives and values that go in line with BAFF mission. And most importantly they have to be able to contribute to the development of their home countries upon return to Baltics.
After completing the program all participants are required to return to their home countries for at least two years and use the acquired knowledge and experience to improve local business, academic, social or political environment.
The Baltic-American Freedom Foundation was established in the fall of 2010 with a mission to enrich ties between the United States and Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, trough programs of education and exchange centering on economic growth and democratic processes. Visibly strengthening U.S. – Baltic ties is a core goal. During two years of operation BAFF has granted 78 scholarships in three different scholarship programs, helping promising students and scientists to advance their careers. Apply before October 30 and maybe you will be the one to receive a chance to go on the best adventure of your life!
