The U.S. Embassy in Vilnius Invites Expert on Biotech, September 30 - October 1, 2008

Attention Media Representatives:

The U.S. Embassy in Vilnius is pleased to announce the visit of Dr. Alan McHughen, a molecular geneticist with an interest in crop improvement and environmental sustainability.  The U.S. Embassy has organized Dr. McHughen's visit based on a request from the Lithuanian Association of Rape Seed Growers for a U.S. expert on technologies for growing biotech rape seed.  

Dr. McHughen will make the following two presentations:

Topic:  "Genetically Modified Rapeseed/Canola"

Audience:  Lithuanian Association of Rape Seed Growers 

Place:  Lithuanian Chamber of Agriculture, Donelaicio 2, Kaunas

Date and Time:  September 30, 11:00 a.m.

Topic: "GMO Crops and Foods: Sustainability and Safety"

Audience:  Students of Vilnius University

Place: Faculty of Natural Sciences of Vilnius University, Ciurlionio 21, Vilnius

Date and Time:  October 1, 10:00 a.m.
