A Ceremony to Congratulate Lithuanians Selected to Attend Military Service Academies in the United States

The U.S. Embassy in Vilnius Office of Defense Cooperation will host a ceremony to congratulate Lithuanians selected to attend military service academies in the United States. Ambassador John Cloud will congratulate them at a ceremony held at the U.S. Embassy's American Center. In attendance will be family and friends of the selectees as well as VIPs from the Ministry of National Defense and other government officials.
The following is information about the three Lithuanians selected to begin attending a service academy this year:
Cadet Vytenis Bucius, currently in his second year at the Lithuanian Military Academy, was selected to attend the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD).
Cadet Tadas Goptaitis, currently in his second year at the Lithuanian Military Academy, was selected to attend the United States Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO).
Mr. Justinas Zenkevicius, who will graduate from high school this year, was selected to attend the United States Military Academy (West Point, NY).
The complete tuition for attendance at the service academies will be paid for by the U.S. government. Upon graduating in 2012, they will begin serving in the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
