American Month of Culture in Lithuania

Media event: tomorrow, 28 March, the U.S. Embassy in Lithuania will hold a press conference in conjunction with Zappart to announce the Month of Culture at Vilnius Rotuse Chamber Hall at 11:00. Participants of the press conference will be Rona Rathod, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer and representatives of Zappart.

The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania is pleased to announce the 2008 American Month of Culture. 

This year the month of April marks the second annual celebration of the American Month of Culture. 

One of the greatest aspects of America is the diversity of its people.  In addition to enriching our society, this medley of people and viewpoints enlivens American culture.

The American Embassy would like to share this piece of the United States with Lithuania and so, during this month, a variety of American artists, musicians, and film directors, in collaboration with their Lithuanian peers, will showcase their exciting works all across Lithuania. 

Program events will be taking place in Vilnius, Kaunas, Birstonas, Palanga and Siauliai celebrating truly American art forms such as  jazz and independent movies, and paying tribute to American greats like Frank Zappa, George Gershwin, and American bikers.
