One of our priorities at the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius is to arrange opportunities for our diplomatic representatives to visit cities and regions throughout Lithuania and share their American experience local schools and organizations. In the past, we have arranged for our officers to discuss American foreign policy, the work of the United States government, and other aspects of American society, politics, and culture at a number of different schools, universities, and other organizations.
For this reason, the U.S. Embassy has established an outreach program, offering educational and other organizations a chance to hear from Americans specific topics of interest. Our goal is to provide opportunities to promote mutual cultural understanding between Americans and Lithuanians and to allow American diplomats to share their broad experience with Lithuanians.
If you are interested in American society, culture, values and/or U.S. foreign policy, the Embassy has someone who can speak to your group. We are willing to speak to a range of audiences including:
- Secondary schools, colleges and university student groups;
- Community organizations;
- Local governments;
- Audiences at cultural events.
Among others, topics generally include American perspectives on:
- Travel and tourism;
- Defense and security; and
- Cultural diversity.
Speakers are available at no charge.
If you would like to take advantage of this unique opportunity please do not hesitate to contact the Public Affairs Office by email at WebEmailVilnius@state.gov.
In your e-mail, be sure to include the proposed dates for the visit, the name of the organization, name and phone number for the contact person organizing the event, and information about the target audience including the group size and association.
