Notarial Services
American citizens and others may receive a variety of notarial services at the Consular Section.
Documents, such as affidavits and powers of attorney, for use in the U.S. may be notarized. There is a fee for this service. ($ 30 for the first notarial and $ 20 for each additional.)
We are unable to provide you with witnesses if required for your document. Please bring your own witnesses when you come for your notarial.
Lithuania and the United States are both Signatories to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization of Foreign Public Documents. Therefore, we cannot, by law, authenticate documents issued in the United States. In such cases a special "apostille" certificate is required. The "apostille" can be obtained from the relevant Secretary of State's office in any of the fifty U.S. states.
