Inauguration of Dr.Marlene Wall as President of the Lithuanian Christian College
September 22, 2012
On September 22nd, Management Officer Alboino Deulus attended the Lithuanian Christian College (LCC) inauguration of their new President, Dr. Marlene Wall, in a lovely ceremony at their Klaipeda campus. LCC was founded soon after Lithuania’s independence in 1991, originally in Panevezys. Concentrating at first with English language lessons, in 1992 they moved to their present campus in Klaipeda. LCC now offers four Bachelor level programs – Business Administration, English Language and Literature, Psychology and Theology. They also have a Masters Program in TESOL (Teaching of English as a Second Language), and in January, will begin offering an MBA program. With a lovely campus and impressive facilities, housing for both students and faculty, LCC hosts participants from over 20 countries, many of whom are there on scholarships.
Dr. Marlene Wall has been with the university since its foundation, having recently served as Vice President of LCC International. The inauguration ceremony gave testament to the love and high regard everyone holds for her. The ceremony and reception afterwards saw her showered with accolades from the LCC directors, staff members, students and the Mayor of Klaipeda, Mr. Vytautas Grubliauskas. During the dinner, Mayor Grubliauskas performed a trumpet solo, leading everyone in a Louis Armstrong rendition of “what a wonderful world”. Towards the end of the reception, Marlene Wall also made an impassioned plea to everyone to help those students who needed financial aid in attending LCC to donate to the Frieda Wall Endowed Scholarship fund. This will allow LCC to continue its work in providing students in need with the best education possible.
If you’re ever in the Klaipeda area, please take a few hours to visit LCC’s campus, tour their facilities and stop in and see Dr. Wall. You’ll feel the dynamism of the campus, and we’re sure you’ll be impressed by the quality of education on offer.
