Registration

All U.S. citizens visiting or transiting through Lithuania are encouraged to register with the Embassy. Registration allows us to:

  • help you more quickly if your passport is lost
  • contact you in case of an emergency
  • provide information about your whereabouts to family and friends (if you initial a Privacy Act Waiver)
  • include you in our warden and e-mail network system, which we use to keep Americans advised of what to do in case of an emergency (you will be included only if you give your permission).
  • To register, you may use our new Internet Based Registration System at  http://travelregistration.state.gov. There is no charge for this service.

Any American citizen who registers becomes part of our warden system. Your name will be given to a volunteer American-citizen warden in your area. Your warden would contact you in the event of an emergency to pass on to you information from the Embassy. Your warden may also be able to serve as a point of contact for other useful information from the Embassy.
