The Fulbright program 

 
The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State and administered under policy guidelines established by the William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

A limited number of stipends in all academic fields is available for research scholars, university lecturers and university graduate students for up to 10 months of research, lecturing or study at American universities.

To be eligible for a Fulbright stipend you must:

·  be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of Lithuania
·  work/study in Lithuania at the time of application
·  speak and write excellent English
·  meet the high academic and professional standards of the Fulbright program.

Candidates may pursue degree programs or approved non-degree or special programs, including advanced professional training. They may follow the regular academic curricula at their host institution or engage in research projects supervised by the institution or do a combination of both.
