Ambassador Mull to Hold a Press Conference on Baltic Trade and Investment Conference in London

December 3, 2004

Media event: On Monday, December 6 at 15:00 Ambassador Stephen Mull will hold a Press Conference at Baltic News Service Press Conference room (Jogailos 9/1, Vilnius, entrance from A.Smetonos street) to discuss the Baltic Trade and Investment Conference in London.

The U.S. Ambassadors to Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia will host a Baltic Trade and Investment Conference in London on December 8 to highlight the investment potential in the dynamic Baltic region.

Ambassador Stephen D. Mull and his counterparts in Tallinn and Riga, Ambassadors Brian Carlson and Aldona Wos, have invited business leaders from the United States to learn more about the thriving economies of the region and the business opportunities that they offer.

Joining the American Ambassadors will be the Lithuanian Government Chancellor Antanas Zenonas Kaminskas, Vice Minister of Economy Nerijus Eidukevicius, Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga, and Estonian Prime Minister Juhan Parts.

Ambassador Mull intends to emphasize at the conference that Lithuania’s impressive economic growth and long-term prospects promise substantial opportunities for U.S. firms.  The Ambassadors chose London as the site of the conference because of the concentration of U.S. business and financial interests in that city.  The U.S. Embassy expects that business executives from over one hundred U.S. companies will participate in the event and anticipates that business visits to Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia will follow.
