International Seminar Capitalizing on Poland's Experience in Supervision of its Banking Sector
To see first-hand why Poland is a model for banking
Financial experts from throughout Eastern, Central and Southern Europe are preparing for an international seminar next week near Warsaw capitalizing on Poland's experience in supervision of its banking sector. As part of its Training Initiative for Banking Supervision (TIBS) program, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) will host a five-day international seminar designed to showcase Poland’s experience in restructuring its banks. NBP will highlight the lessons learned in creating the legal and regulatory framework necessary to meet the demands of a modern, liberalized economy. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided significant support for Poland’s financial transformation, as well as for the establishment of NBP’s training center, where experts from other countries can share their experiences and ideas in support of strengthening regional financial sectors.
What:
A five-day interactive seminar on banking supervision, hosted by the NBP. Representatives from 17 Eastern, Southern European and Central Asian countries are expected to attend. The conference will be in English.
