What:  U.S. Presidential Election Breakfast

Where: The American Center, Pranciškonų 3/6, 2001 Vilnius

When:  Wednesday, November 8 at 8.30AM,

Who: Welcome Remarks by Ambassador John F. Tefft at 9 AM

Vilnius, November 6, 2000--  The U.S. Embassy in Vilnius is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a U.S. Presidential Election result countdown breakfast at the American Center on Wednesday, November 8 from 8.30am - 12pm.  Ambassador John F. Tefft will say a few words to mark the occasion at 9 AM.  Journalists are kindly invited to join us to help celebrate this exciting event as the final outcome starts to become clear. They are also welcome to take photographs and film.  Guests will have the opportunity to obtain the most up-to-date results of what is predicted to be a very tight and unpredictable race between Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush.  Other activities will be taking place at the American Center throughout the morning, including instant analysis by major US media via the internet and large-screen broadcast of breaking news.  Information on the American election process as well as biographies of candidates will also be available.
