Seminar "Science Exchanges between Lithuania and The United States: Experience and Opportunities"

On Tuesday, 7 October 2003, at 1:30 - 5:00 h, The American Center will be hosting U.S. Embassy sponsored seminar "Scientific Exchanges between Lithuania and The United States: Experience and Opportunities".

The purpose of the Seminar is to inform the Lithuanian science community on possibilities and sources of funding in the United States, promote development of Lithuanian science and technologies and foster cooperation with U.S. scientists.

Seminar presentations will be made by Prof. Eugenijus Butkus, Lithuanian Science Council, Dr. Vygintas Gontis, Lithuanian Scientific Society, Jurgita Petrauskiene, International Agency for Science and Technology, Prof., Dr. Habil. Artūras Zukauskas, Materials and Applied Science Institute, Doc. Henrikas Cesiulis and Dr. Habil. Saulius Klimasauskas, Biotechnology Institute, and representatives of Ecology Institute.

The organizer of the seminar, Dr. Rūta Sevo from the U.S. National Science Foundation will talk about possibilities and sources of financing in the United States.

After the seminar, the information on opportunities and sources of financing in the United States will be available on the U.S. Embassy website www.usembassy.lt -- Information Resource Center - “Exchanges with U.S. Science and Technology”. American Center library will have copies of Dr. Rūta Sevo’s presentation.
