The Embassy of the United States of America thanks Lithuania for support to the victims of Hurricane Katrina
19 September 2005
The Embassy of the United States of America wishes to thank the people and the Government of Lithuania for their generous offers of support -- moral, material, and financial -- to the victims of Hurricane Katrina in the Southeast of the United States. We are deeply touched by the donations by individual Lithuanian citizens to relief organizations in our country, as well as the Government of Lithuania's offers of rescue personnel, foodstuffs, and other items. Lithuanians have shown special kindness with their words of solidarity and their giving.
The American people are touched and deeply grateful for the generous offers of help we have received from over 115 governments, 12 international organizations, and so many individuals and private organizations around the world.
Lithuania has shown, once again, what a great friend she is to the United States. We thank you.
