Mr. Louis J. Freeh to visit Vilnius
Vilnius, September 14, 2000 -- The Embassy of the United States of American in Vilnius is pleased to announce that the Director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Mr. Louis J. Freeh, will visit Vilnius on Sunday, September 17, 2000. Director Freeh will meet with American Embassy officials, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, and Lithuanian law enforcement officials to discuss problems of international terrorism and organized crime.
Meetings are scheduled with Lithuanian Minister of Interior Affairs Ceslovas Blazys, the Commissioner General of the Minstry's police department, Visvaldas Rackauskas, the Prosecutor General, Kazys Pednycia, and his deputy, Kazys Kovarskas, as well as the Director of the Special Investigations Service, Valentinas Junokas, and the head of the State Security Department, Mecys Laurinkus.
Director Freeh will depart for Germany following his one-day visit to Lithuania.
