12th Anniversary of the U.S. Decision to Reopen Embassies in the Baltic Countries

September the 1st, 2003, is the 12th Anniversary of the U.S. decision to reopen Embassies in the Baltic countries.
The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania was originally opened in a hotel. The diplomats were working out of two hotel rooms to establish relations between the two countries.
12 years later, as a demonstration of the expanding ties between Lithuania and the USA, the U.S. Embassy now has 35 American employees and over a hundred employees in total. The Embassy now works out of 5 buildings.
