Ambassador S. D. Mull to hand the Letters of Accreditation to President R.Paksas

26 August 2003 -- Vilnius, Lithuania. Tomorrow, 26 August 2003, at 15.00h the new U.S. Ambassador to Lithuania Stephen D. Mull will hand his Letters of Accreditation to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Rolandas Paksas.

Press event: After the meeting with the President, at 15.30h Ambassador S.D. Mull will make a short statement and be available briefly for questions in the Presidency at the Press Hall.

Biography:

Ambassador Mull is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service in the class of Minister Counselor. He most recently served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has served as a Consular or Political Officer for the U.S. Missions in Poland, the Bahamas, and South Africa since the beginning of his career in the Foreign Service in 1982.

Prior to his assignment in Jakarta, Ambassador S. D. Mull worked as Deputy Director of the State Department Operations Center, as Political Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, as Director of the Office of Southern European Affairs in the Bureau of European Affairs, and as Deputy Executive Secretary in the Office of the Secretary of State.

Ambassador Stephen D. Mull was born April 30, 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science in International Politics from Georgetown University in 1980. Mr. Mull is married to Cheri Stephan, and they have one son, Ryan, who is eight years old.
