U.S. Congressional Delegation Visit in Vilnius

A group of eight members of the United States Congress led by Rep. John Duncan of Tennessee will be visiting Lithuania as part of a fact finding mission to the Baltic states to discuss transportation and environmental issues. The delegation will also be examining efforts to increase border security.
A meeting with President Valdas Adamkus is scheduled on Friday, 20 August with a Press Briefing at the Presidency at 12.30.
The U.S. Congressional delegation will also meet with Arturas Paulauskas, Parliamentary Speaker, other Members of Seimas, Arunas Kundrotas, Lithuanian Minister of Environment, Zigmantas Balcytis, Minister of Transportation.
The members of the U.S. Congress will also have a short sightseeing tour of Vilnius and the surrounding region.
Traveling with Rep. Duncan will be Reps. Jerry Costello (D-ILL), Solomon Ortiz (D,-TX), Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX), John Mica (R-FL), Michael Capuano (D-MA), and Henry Brown (R-SC).
