Ambassador Mull Completes Tour of Duty in Lithuania

19 June 2006

United States Ambassador Stephen Mull concluded his term in Lithuania and departed for the United States on Saturday, June 17, 2006.  Ambassador Mull departed from Lithuania with words of praise for the skill, spirit, and resolve of the Lithuanian people.  As he stated on June 8 in his farewell address to the American Chamber of Commerce, “Lithuania's commitment to freedom and democracy and its active leadership role in working to spread these values is nothing short of inspiring.”

The United States Senate confirmed John A. Cloud as the next U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania on May 26, 2006.  Mr. Cloud previously served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Berlin.

Until Ambassador-Designate Cloud arrives in August, Mr. Thomas P. Kelly will serve as Chargé d'Affaires ad interim at the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius.

A biography of Ambassador-Designate Cloud can be found at www.usembassy.lt
