U.S. National War College delegation visit in Vilnius on May 11-13, 2003

May 9, 2003 -- Vilnius, Lithuania – a delegation of eleven students from he United States National War College (NWC) will visit Lithuania on May 11-13, 2003.
During their short visit in Lithuania, the U.S. National War College students will meet with Lithuanian Minister of Defense Linas Linkevicius, Commander of Lithuanian Land Forces Brigadier General Valdas Tutkus, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary Evaldas Ignatavicius, members of the Parliamentary National Security and Foreign Affairs Committees, Baltic Defense College graduates, U.S. Embassy officials, and some Lithuanian academics and media representatives.
The NWC delegation includes some United States Army and Navy high-ranking officers, and some civilian students. Their goal is to study the national security situation in Lithuania, to learn more about the current most pressing issues, and to better understand how Lithuania sees itself and how it fits into the overall context of Europe and the world.
The group will also discuss how Lithuania sees the United States: what is the Lithuanian impression of American Foreign and National Security Policy and what needs to be done to further develop the working relationship between the US and Lithuania.
