The U.S. Embassy congratulates the Government of Lithuania and all citizens of Vilnius on a successful international summit of the Community of Democratic Choice.  The conference attracted the attention of the world media and the organizers of the conference as well as Vilnius's citizens have a lot of which to be proud.    

The conference not only show-cased Lithuanians' graciousness as hosts, but also contributed substantively to the promotion of a common vision for a democratic Europe, whole, free and at peace.  U.S. Vice President Cheney talked of the warm and welcoming spirit of Lithuania during his visit here.  The entire Embassy staff wants to thank all those who worked so hard to make this conference of democratic leaders such a success and extend their special gratitude to the people of Vilnius for their hospitality and patience.  Lithuania has once again demonstrated the dynamic role it plays in euro-Atlantic structures and in promoting our common democratic values.
